Y Pipe roup deal question
Hey all
I am new to this so please bare with me.
I want to join the warpspeed Y pipe group deal but I am a little confused as to wich model to order. I have a 1998 Maxima SE. The invoice from when I bought the car says I have a California Emissions control system. However I saw the picture of the connections for the ca/nlev emissions on the cattman web site. I only have 2 connections not 4. So do I have federal emmisions? Which Y pipe do I buy
Thanks for the help

I just got my Y-pipe today and installed it tonight. I have a 97gxe auto, so the models are basically the same. You need to order the "VQ" model, which is our engine model, you also have to use Paypal, which is little bit of a pain in the *** to set up. I also emailed warpspeed with my car info after I placed the order, just to be sure. I had no problems installing the pipe, perfect fit, and I did it by myself. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I'll answer if I can, but if you go to the warpspeed website www.warpspeedperformance.com , Dan or Dallas can probably answer them better. Good luck.

It looks as though the CA emissions for 97/98 is basically the same as the FED version, we just have never had a CA Y pipe to look at but have sent quite a few to CA.
Just order the VQ SS stainless, you can of course give a call if you have any questions. toll free 866-801-9338.
We installed an entire WarpSpeed system on a nice looking VG Maxima today. The owner drove all the way here from Topeka about 5-1/2 hours. I have to say with our new resonator it sounded very nice, there is no ricey sound in that car.
We should begin testing several new mufflers in the next few weeks, I am getting a first look at a couple on Monday.
Dallas
Thanks Dallas
I ordered the VQ Y pipe and the cat.
Cant wait to put it in, will wait and see what you come up with for mufflers. This may be a stupid question, but what keeps us from being able to put dual exhausts on the maxima, would there be any gain.
Thanks again

dual exhaust
Many people have posted on this subject. I am not an expert in this area. It seems (from reading others posts) that there is insufficient room. A few have done this mod, but end up doing some reworking of the body. If still interested, do a search. From what I have learned, dual exhaust won't really add much if anything (besides looks) and you end up with a heavier car.I would reccomend spending your money on other mods that have been proven by the Maxima community.
