My Trunk is stuck and I can't get it open!

Help guys, My trunk is stuck.

My key lock was frozen a long time ago and I never repaired it. I just used the door switch. Today I opened my trunk to clean it out and I'm pretty sure I didn't accidentally flick the saftery latch inside that prevents the inside button from working. In fact, when I press the switch, I hear the latch opening but the trunk does not pop up.

I tried pressing down on the trunk while pressing the switch but nothing. So I must ask the forum if it has a solutions?

That happened to me a long time ago. Someone helped me out, cant remember who it was to give them credit.
Take apart the rear seats. You will see a huge metal plate. Remove that. Finally you can get into the trunk. Press your trunk release on the remote and then take it from there. You may need to press the metal latch the other way and then it will open. After you get it open, spray some WD40 in there just in case. I havent had a problem with it yet so give it a try.
Best of luck.

Can you open the trunk with the key? And not the key fob?

The bottom part of the lock is able to be pushed up and down. So when it is pushed down the trunk will not open via the key fob. If you pull the lock up the trunk will work 100%.

Gotta remove the back seat and metal plate. This happend to me once. Then you can get in there an release it from the inside by messing with the latch.

Just get a broom or something and lift the latch with that through the ski hole.

When you put the lever up then you can just use the pop button.

Try squirting WD 40 in the lock key hole That usually frees up a stuck lock

I ended up removing the seat and metal plate. It seems that the safety lever was indeed down. I moved it up and the trunk opened with remote. However when I closed the trunk and tried again to remotely open, I found that the lever was pushed down again.
Anyway, then I lubricated the entire mechanism and the lever stayed up.
So I concluded that something with the mechanism itself was sticking and pushing the lever down. I advise you all to lubricate your trunk hinges before it happens to you.

Thanks again to all you guys for help.

I got a shaved keyhole and i accedently hit the saftey, and couldnt open the trunk with the button. That time i had my 2 rockford 10s and couldnt go though back seats so i kept pressing the button and pulling the trunk up from the bottom and after like 20 tries it opened., is there anyway to get of that saftey thing, i know nissan makes a lever that allows u to open trunk from inside if u lock yourself inside, lol, but with the system, its hard to get in.

Removing that stupid lever would be nice. My key still doesnt work even loading it with WD40. Im going to shave it after the winter. I would never want that to happen agian expecially when you have a box back there.

3 times now. First time the rubber washer got out of place so I had to take everything apart to actually get inside the trunk. The other two times I pushed the latch down when it should've been up. I just got this long, metal bar and pushed the tab up through the ski hole.
