looks nice, but I kind of want to put something over that shiet

the thing is...wood doesnt look good with black..or I dont think i've seen any that look good..so i'm stuck with alum and not real alum for that matter.

I am also looking into the aluminum dash kits. Surely, someone has installed one and can give us some feedback. I would like to know how they look. If not, then how about you guys, what do you think? Would it look good or not?

Dan, I know that Joshusa Tree makes true alum kits, but the downside is they only make a few parts, I found one company that makes parts for the dash, stereo area, AND door area where the window buttons are. Ill try to dig up the link for you.

I would appreciate that. The ones I had found were just for the dash.

hey max91se...

Your max int looks similar to mine, I upgraded my dash panels though. I think the 92-94 panels look great. What kind of paint did you use?

Take a look at this pic

last time I checked, Joshua Tree DOES sell door panel things to cover the switches, but it was sold seperatly from the main kit
also, if you have a black int, you might want to consider carbon fiber. Its not as flashy as alum., but I still think it looks pretty nice in the car

my pics at http://www.geocities.com/bracecraig/maxima/new (hit refresh a few times)

that parts do you want that aren't in the joshua tree kit?
it covers all the black pieces on the dash, other than the gauge cluster and shifter box. I forget whether or not they have them for the door panels, but I believe they do.
it's not cheap either, but looks really nice in my car.

hey were those a direct fit into the 89-91 models. which panels did you replace exactly? just the one peice with the cigarette light? or did you have to replace any other panels too? its much easier to get a trim kit for 92-94 dash's, i dunno why. how much you pay for it too?

How bout fit and finish? Does the JT kit look like the car came from the factory with the kit or is it easy to tell that it is aftermarket? How easy would it be to remove once installed on the car? Sorry about all the ?'s

It fits over your existing plastic. $125 for the dashkit + door pieces is one of the better prices I have seen!

i really wanted brushed alum, the real thing.

Brandon...

The dash panels are in fact a direct replacement the will fit perfectly, EXCEPT the radio. You also need to get new radio brackets if you decide to change the panels. With the 89-91 panels, the radio is set back into the dash about 3/4" So you need new radio brackets to move it forward. Other than that, nothing else is needed. I wish they made REAL aluminum dash panels like BMW & Audi. I'm actually going to repaint my dash but Im going to sand it down first to make it look like brushed aluminum.

I looked at it, but I didn't want carbon fiber or synth aluminum. It looks like a good deal, since it has the door pieces

I helped my girlfriend swap her hood after she got in a na ccident, and she's going to help me out. She's in materials tech is going to make me a real brushed aluminum dash kit + door pieces, diamond plated floor mats, and a brushed alum gauge bezel.

No clue how it'll turn out, but you can expect me to have pictures

Tan Interior...

I'm also looking at getting a dash kit, I've got the tan/brown (leather) interior... Is there anything that looks good on that except maybe just wood trim? I've heard that yellow would, but I've never seen it, and I seem a bit skeptical of that... does anyone have the tan interior with a dash kit and a pic of it? I wouldn't mind seeing how it looks.
