HELP! have 3.125 pulley on s/c but only running 5psi, why???

supposedly a 3.125 pulley should do around 10-11psi. i have a V1 on my car w/that pulley and for sum reason my boost gauge shows that im only running 5psi...

wut could cause this, and wut is the most probable reason?
here are a few i can think of:
-dirty air filter?
-dying supercharger?
-my exhaust (greddy) has a leak in it, could that be it?
-not properly tuned?
-problem w/my engine (compression numbers on two of the cylinders are in low)?

background info, i bought this car with the supercharger in it, and i am tryin to redo/improve on the things the previous owner had already done to the car.

please help

check for a boost leak in your charge piping

Also check for air leaking out where the 2 halves of the SC compressor meet.

I had that exact problem....5PSI out of a 3.25" Pulley.
A spray bottle with soap and water works great. Spray it everywhere and rev the engine and see where you get bubbles. Hopefully it is the piping and not the compressor halves.

I Sent the SC back and traded it in for a V2 - now I'm on a 2.87" running 13PSI. I could have just gotten it rebuilt - but the V1 was too loud for me so I switched.

is air leakin out of the compressor halves a common problem of use? supposedly the supercharger has been on the car for about 80,000 miles?

Actually, as far as I know, I'm the only one who it's happened to so far.

But that doesn't mean it can't happen twice.

Yep - check all those things...I simply sugessted the spray bottle trick because it is the easiest to do. You can spray on the manifold as well (not too much, you don't want water in your engine) to test for leaks.
