spring clips for brake pads?

i changed my front brake pads and rotors and am now getting a constant slight scrape noise as the wheel turns. i don't think this one is the dust shield.

my camry has spring clips that keep constant pressure on the pads to push them away from the rotor when not the brake pedal is not pushed down. my maxima did not have these but should it? there are the little holes in the top of the pads for them to clip into.

If you "just" changed them, the sound may go away after some driving.

Most aftermarket pads don't even come with those holes for the spring clips... usually not a problem. I'd be more concerned about a sticking piston.

I'm worried about a sticking piston too I think. I did apply some grease to them at the time. I didn't think it was too much. Is there any way to test it to know?

I'm not sure WHERE you added the GREASE unless you are referring to the 12mm sliding pins/bolts... You should have used some antisqueal stuff between the shim and pad backs, only.

If you calipers are starting to freeze your rotors will be very hot after a drive... On my old Supra, it was glowing red... it's pretty obvious and you can compare to the other side of the car. If the noise is "symmetrical" on both sides of the car... just wait a few days to see if it goes away unless actual braking performance is affected.
