Are there not very many of these? It doesn't seem like many of the members here have them, and looking to buy one is almost impossible. Thoughts?

oh i'm sure that there are quite a few, just not many members here have one. in fact, i'm not sure if anyone has a 94 SE? they are quite desirable though. eventually i'm going to get a 94 SE 5spd. hehehe. they are kinda hard to find in nice condition for a good price. but when i get mine i'm looking for one under 60k miles or so, but i'll also be willing to pay the extra $$ for it too.

I was going to buy a black 94 SE loaded that had 54,000 miles and was in perfect condition, I did not have $13,000 to spend! They are quite expensive and hard to find.

I ran across a 94SE Dark blue, 5spd ,loaded, in perfect condition, while looking for my max it was out of my price range at the time. Man I wish I could have a do over! I would buy that car in a second if I had another chance.

Usually they'll only keep 3rd gens for a week or so, then wholesale it off to get rid of it. they can make more profit on a 4th or 5th gen, so they dump 3rd gens to wholesalers cheap to make room on the lots for more profitable cars.
but yeah, I've been shopping for one too.. they're nearly impossible to find in good condition- let alone with low miles. All the ones I've looked at in town are either beat to hell, or they're asking $12,000 for one with 100k+ miles.

I was told by the dealer that any car with over 100,000 miles they wholesale. I like 3rd gens better thn most 4th.

Hi you all, i'm from Ontario Canada. I paid my 94 Se 5 sp last year in March for $13500 + tax. It got 130000 Km when i bought it. Now it has 188000 Km.
Do you think i got ripped off? I needed a car in a week when i was looking for one. There wasn't time for me to shop around or negotiate. When i found the only one 94 se with 5 sp, i already know that i'm going to get it and was prepare to get hurt($).

Elusive 94SE

Hey, I live in New England and I searched for monthes for a 3rd gen. I never came across one 94 SE that was less than $8k, and since I was looking at $5k or less, I didnt even look twice. It seems up here the 3rd Gen Maxs are hard to grab at reasonable prices. I finally got a 92SE max auto for $4000, which seems to be a great deal. The whole left side had to be replaced cause it was scraped by a plow, but I saw the old parts and knew it was all cosmetic damage. I'd seen cars with higher miles go for $6k, so I consider myself lucky. Anyway, thats my 2 cents.

I have one!

It just turned over 100K, but still goes like an SOB. May be for sale close to this same time next year if I'm ready to buy my 5th. All the mods will stay with the car. I just have to save up and hope Nissan builds the 260hp 3.5L SE-R that they're talking about.

I'd be interested but the miles... I just don't know if I want a ride with so many on it.

Thats how many miles my 89 GXE has on it. I think
your high mileage concern is blinding you from some
nice cars. Remember the Maxima is not some american
piece of junk Japanese built them and built them to
last. Ask some of the guys around here how many miles
they have on their Maximas and you will see some nice
cars with many more miles than mine.

93 SE

I have a 93 SE Auto, what's the difference between the 93 and 94 SE? I thought they are the same. How much can I get for mine? It has 80k original miles, it's in perfect condition, all stock.

hey im from toronto, i bought my max 2.5 years ago in october of 98. It had 155k kms on it, and i bought it for $8900Canadian, It was 10,400 out the door after the dumbass taxes we have to pay. The following spring of 99, my friends dad bought one exactly like mine, black on black 5spd SE, his had 110k kms on it, and he bought it for $7500 privately. Neither of our maximas have given us any big problems, Just the normal wear and tear parts.
I will be selling mine sometime midsummer. It has 196k kms on it, I barely drive it, it sits in the garage alot of the time.
It ran 15.37@90mph bone stock, i will be running it again in two weeks with some new real mods.
