so i was painting the inside of the clearance lights and they came apart just like the headlights did nice and easy and whatnot. then when i went to heat them up and put them back together i went to take them out of the oven and the clear covers both melted and srivveled to the oven rack!!!! so now im stuck here with no damn corner lenses so i just put the part back on without the light bulb in it and need to find some online or somthing that i can buy somone please help me locate some for like around $20 if possiable!!! this sucks!

 

drivers side corner light, same problem for me, i just put it on warped anyways, still looking for one, ebay has been giving some decent prices.

yea but there so expensive all i have is $30 to my name a qurter tank of gas i got fired from my job and have a 3 week old daughter to feed and bring down to her moms tommaro thats 200 miles away i wont have enough gas to get back and no money to fix my car i need help! lol jeez i dont know what to do im pretty much screwed here somone please help me and donate some corner lenses you have laying around or pennys or somthing

 

Join the club man. I did the same thing to mine but luckily i was able to salvage them some how and they are on my car now but it looks like ****. The whole glass part is kinda straight. I will keep my eyes open for something and i will let u know.

 

I didnt bother sticking them in the oven. Everywhere i have read (if i remember correctly) that i should heat up the oven to like 400 and put them in there for 10 min. Dude 300 and 3 or so min and they came apart (tails) with ease. If the glue gets soft at around 160 then why would you heat up the over to something like 400? The plastic is soft and it will melt. Or at least not go on the right way again.

 

i used the oven at 250 for like 8.5 min and they were shrunk and like warped to s*it i mean what can i do about the damn wholes look at this crap it looks like i came from the junkyard for real plus i need to wash all those little white things are bugs there really bad around here but seriously look at it and not laugh...LOL o man what am i gonna do

IF the story is true about your kid, then what your car looks like should be the least of your worries.

 

How come the headlights and tail lights survive the oven but the corner lenses don't ? Does someone know a safe temperature for the corner lenses ?
Would just a hairdryer or some hot water be enough ??

seriously, the daughter should be number one, screw your car, would you rather a nice looking car with a malnourished baby or a healthy baby and screwed up clear corners that in fact really arent hurting anything except the looks of your ride.

 

Easy buddy, if he can afford the spray paint for the mod and the web connection, I'm sure he can afford food for his kid. His priorities can not be that screwed up... can they ??

hahaha thats a good one first i already had the paint, and the internet is paid for by my parents, also i am supposed to get formula from W.I.C. which is a govt program that helps out teen parents but they were being gay and said i need proof of income which i dont have now that i lost my job but im just pawning stuff off as needed to get by for now lol i know sounds bad but it works i have alot of bs around here...btw here is your picture and she is not wearing a shirt cause i was doing laundry and it was hot that night so heres another one lol there she is sleeping on me. fun stuff -ryan

 

Let me join the club as well. Done one corner perfect, but nicely melted the other. So I got new one from eBay for 27 shipped. Gotta replace it still though...

 

jeez maybe somone should post in the faq's or somthing that doing the ae mod on corner lights is dangrous!!!!!! so then maybe people wont do it or do it very carfully insted of thinking all is well until they open there oven and try to take it out and have stringy glue all over burning there hands and wrists because it melted to your fingers and the lens bent to hel* and yada yada yada just my experiance
