what is a AAC valve?

what is a AAC valve?

my mechanic said that my AAc valve is reading low numbers. what does it do and wear is it located? thanks for the help- he says this is why my car is sputtering and rough idle hopefully!!!

I think you mean IAC - the idle air control valve.....cost like 3.50 and very easy to install....dont let him rip you off! It takes like literally 1 minute to install once you find it....

I forget....near the front exhaust manifold, underneath somewhere its hard to see...I am sure someone will chime in with a pic....Ive seen one in another thread but alas no search....

It does NOT cost $3.50 (I'm sure it's more than that...) Look at the upper intake manifold pic here: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=335886 you see the pink, purple, and brown connectors? That's the IACV. Disconnect the connectors (just like in that pic) and then take out the 3 screws and clean out it out with some throttle body cleaner.

mine was 3.50...its a little plastic tube! Got it from autozone....my mechanic installed it for free while I was getting other stuff done.

You're probably talking about the PCV valve...
