Get tint or upgrade speakers?

I can't decide if I should tint my windows or upgrade my head unit and components first (I have a sub and aftermarket rear speakers), and I don't have enough $$$ to do both right now. What do you guys think?

do the speakers now, since you are in Mass. and winter is coming up you won't really need the tinted windows to keep the sun out, plus the days are getting shorter. and then after x-mas or hanukah or whatever the hell you celebrate you might have cash for the tiniting

Go for the tint.

It gives the car a very nice look instantly. Besides, tint is best done during warm months for best results. If you don't get it done now, you'll have to wait all the way 'til spring. As where the speakers can be done year round with same results.

Get new speaks, do the tint your self.....
Tint is so easy. it just takes a little bit of time. you can do your whole car in about 2.5 hours. i tinted both of my maximas my self. read up on the internet.
Peace and **** grease.

The tint is nice, but I would just go for the sound system.
If you already have the speakers and subs, finish that thing off.

tint can be done yourself, but you can also mess it up reall bad if you dont know how to do it. the hardest part is cleaning the windows with a blade and not scratchinch the glasss. i would do the tint first though.

If you do get the tint, don't go more than about 35%.
I think that before too long, most states will require this. It seems to be the trend.

Good point on the winter, I am looking at getting some infinity kappas and an eclipse HU. I would get my car tinted at Tint King in Billerica. I heard there is noone around that can beat the quality/price. Don't know if you're willing to drive that far though.

Tint...that's all there is to say. Then speakers, because both are good

Although honestly I'd like to know where you're getting tint done that it's so expensive that you need to choose between it and speakers

I have both...I'm cool. Besides taht, I can give you my opinion. My system is my favorite thing I've done. But I love music. It depends on what you like more than anything else. Also, if there are tint laws that are enforced, I'd hold off, because you will just want it darker. That's all.

why'd you get speakers for the rear instead of the front? Anyways, tint the girl! It's one of the slickest mods money can buy, only if you go dark though. I have limo and everytime I look at it, I stain myself.

Thats waht I am saying. Get the tint first. Then do the stereo. The tint will give you privacy for your upcoming system. I have 15% and when I get in my car it is great. I feel more secure in my car with the tint.

The Max has a pretty good sound system even for stock. I say tint the car and then go for the sound. Now if you didnt have sound then i would say go for the sound.

The only thing would be if you get tints, is what % you want. Some like them really dark and others (like me) like them just a bit over legal. Dark looks cool but its imposible to see anything while your parking at night.

I've heard good things about Xtreme Clean and Ultimate Detail in weymouth...me personally I'd go with the speakers first...hard enough to see out the windows with the snow that'll surely come with the winter.

pending on your states tint laws, i would probably get tinted first. but if your state is real strict on their tint laws then just forget it and go with the speakers. it would suck really bad to get a $200 tint ticket then have to take it off wasting how ever much you would pay to get them put on. plus you probably cant pass inspection with illeagal tints.

[QUOTE=Brudaddy]Sounds like someone needs a self-esteem boost.
Has NOTHING to do with self esteem. Lets see YOU drive around some parts of Brooklyn late at night in a nice car and see how safe you feel driving with the wondows down. Lets see YOU pull up to a red light in Brownsville/East New York at night and see if you dont feel better knowing you have tints.

I agree with Igobuk, tint in the winter is not a good idea... And if your just getting speakers it wont be suck a big difference unless they are expensive after market with amps to push them or a sub and amp combo which would be much more of an expense... Tint is cheaper for a nice effect... plus you can get the mobile motel going earlier... If your gonna get your audio done try to save and do it all at once. Highs and lows... a complete system will sound better... or else it will sound hollow... good luck

yeah, I have the stealthbox and rear aftermarket speakers now (because the stock blew first). Now that I blew my tweeters it's time to upgrade. I can have the speaker and HU install done cheap parts + $60 for labor because I know a guy. I have an amp to push the speakers but am not sure if I am going to do it only because the stealthbox is pushing 300watts rms and I'm not sure how the speakers will sound if they outperform the subwoofer. I'm going to do 30% in the back and 35% in the front around xmas when I get some more cash, I figure I'd fill out the system first. Thanks for your replies guys

Just remember that tint in the cold winter is more riskier because of possible air bubbles while drying... Give it at least double the time to dry in cold weather... Id suggest waiting till the spring If you dont get it done before the frost season... my .02 cents good luck
