How To: AE Headlight Mod ??

Ive seen so many maxima's on here with the AE headlights and the corner lights done and I was thinking maybe Id like to tackle it if its not too hard.

I have a 96' Max with the glass headlights...any tips would be good and a website with a writeup would be even better. A paint type and your personal experiences is always good too

Thanks
-matt

Heat oven to around 200*

Remve metal clips on lenses

Put housings in oven for 8 minutes

Try to gently pry apart. If they are still stuck, try 2-3 more minutes

Pry apart, tape off the reflectors, paint

Let dry, put back in oven. Heat for 2-3 minutes, put the housing and the lens back to gether and reattach the clips to seal it back together

Leave in oven for 4-5 more minutes to reseal adhesive

Doing this mod is pretty easy. Just give yourself an quite afternoon to do this. I did mine easily but used a color different than black.

Thought it wouldn't show though the lenses but was I wrong. That's the last time get lazy doing things with the car.

don't have any pics but definately do it! looks better on darker cars imo so you're lucky. i still like it on my white 95 though. i cracked the passenger side clearance lense but got a free replacement at the junkyard but haven't had the time to change it.

Make sure you wont let the glue attach on the lens or anywhere you dont want it, f*cking hard to remove.
