95 maxima wheel bearing

Hello:

I am getting a loud, rotational sound when driving. Someone mentioned it is the wheel bearing. Does any one know the exact tell tale signs that the wheel bearing needs changed, and also what side?

Also, how much do they cost to replace (each wheel). I had a J30 whose WB had to be pressured in using a special machine, is this the case with 95 maxs as well?

Greatly appreciate any input.

Rafay.

If you need, I have one for the front for sale. PM me. if your wheel has a bit of extra play if you try and wiggle it around, that's usually a good indication of a bad wheel bearing.

check the condition of your tires 1st..I had that same noise , turned out to be a broken belt in one of my tires.

I had to replace a wheel bearing on my first Maxima. It made a constant noise: deep groan at low speeds and up to a high squeel at highway speeds. It scared me to death when it first kicked in on the expressway doing about 80mph. I couldn't pinpoint which side it was coming from, but my mechanic did and replaced it. I don't remember the cost. I'd have to look at receipts at home.
