How long do these struts last?

I have a set of KYB adjustables and I feel that they're losing their edge. lol. I just wanted to know how long they would last for.

i heard they are decent, but don't last long, i have kyb on my max when i bought it, one of the front is blown now. i guess it all depends on what u drive on and how u drive.

As long as a strut isn't paired with too low of a spring they should last many, many, thousands of miles.

I had 35K miles on the AGXs on my first Maxima when it got totaled. They were still tight and had many more miles left on them, driving hard on twisty country roads every day. I bought another set for my new Maxima.

I think that most of the time when dampers don't last long, it is because of installation error. If the dampers are not aligned perfectly (proper orientation relative to the mounting points) when installed, the dampers will be subjected to undue stress that can lead to premature failure. The lack of a dust boot, or the use of a damaged dust boot, can cause premature failure. Using springs that provide a large drop can cause premature failure.

People used to say that Tokico HPs never lasted long. I got over 60K miles out of mine and they were still stiff as can be when I took them out (to install AGXs). So it's not the dampers... It's the installation.

I've had my AGX's with stock springs for about 5,000 miles and H&R springs for about 24,000
