i didn't do what ither of you suggested, but you guys were right on the money as to what the problem was.. i took it back to the muffler shop i had it installed...

Now Dan and Dallas.. as i was told by my muffler guy.. it seems you guys tried to make the design so that the y pipe was not hitting the shifter.. HOWEVER.. you could have brought it over 2 more inches closer to the shifter.. i saw.. the car was on the lift.. so Dan and Dallas.. before you push out anymore VQ pipes.. you might want to look into this issue...

I would say 50% of the people bought the pipe had the rattle.. and the other 50% the shops compensated for the rattle before the customer left the shop

So, did the muffler shop you brought your car into found the problem right away? I think I'll bring my car in sometime this week. I'm going to bring back to the shop that I got it installed, so they won't charge me anything to fix it.

I wrote Dallas about the issue and he told me they were going to put a 96 & 97 on a lift on Wednesday to check it out, and will let me know what they find and are going to do. I had no problem fixing this myself, 10 minutes maybe. If anyone in the Southern California area is having a prob let me know, I can probably fix it for free if you bring it by, or just for gas to your place. If your going to the Carlsbad meet we can do it there too. I've got all the parts at work. I went back in yesterday and put in a rubber grommet and a couple of plastic washers to make sure nothing wears down. Good luck all. Congrats Sprintmax on fixing your's. So much quiter isn't it!!!

Yes

I am not afraid to get on it now.. i love the power now.. before i was a little scared to go at WOT because it started vibrating..

Cumalot - yes they can fix it.. all my muffler guy did was use a breaker bar or something like that.. and just wedge it over and kept doing that.. it took him 2 mins.. he said if the noise came back he would make sure that it was fixed for good.. i had to ask him because it took so short.. and i took the car out for a spin and it was great... no rattles
