I am affraid I have to agree with Klown on this. BUT all that matters is that you like it and the car will not get loose at 200 mph .

It doesn't fit the car at all...

It is basically a piece of aluminum bolted to the back of your car creating drag. The back of your car doesn't need to be planted, you have a front wheel drive.

You are creating downforce, which might help cornering speed (if you were taking corners at 75-100 mph) but ultimately you are just slowing your car down/decreasing mpg, etc. If you are driving in a straight line, you want as little drag as possible.

Do yourself a favor and do a little research on "downforce" and "drag." There is a reason everyone on this board is calling you a ricer.

If you just fess up and say you think the big wing looks good, then that's fine. It's your car and if you like how it looks, that's your choice. However, don't go trying to play it off like you are enhancing the performance of your car in any way because it is actually decreasing performance.

BTW, good find on the Monte Carlo. I always thought those would be fun to tinker with.

I didn't say the wing increases anything...don't read into to it, before i had the spoiler the car handled alot looser turning wise (on the back end)....driving on the highways ect...i feel at least. I don't mind the look .... it makes ma car different whether for better or for worse.

And yes the Monte is a beast was a difference drivin a FWD to a RWD..... turning and driving in the rain was quite an experiance!

See what happens when you finally decide to drop some pics of your car, man?? Almost makes one regret that decision.

i am so embarrassed and lost to even own a VG maxima that i removed it and put in a nice 8hp briggs & straton. i even hooked up a chain drive to power the rear wheels. i can't stand the VG. what a slow PS. i got a great deal at sears, too, with the briggs. got a factory $40 rebate, too.

about that rear wing: since it is so cliched to have a wing anyway, you may want to put it on the hood to make it easier to grip when your hood lifters begin to sag. then you can free up that trunk space, remove the trunk lid, and make the back into an open bed. you might as well just go all the way here.

Hey, I wasn't criticizing his choice of what's on his car. I just didn't think the "keep the *** of my car planted" bit was called for. It was almost like justifying something because we were critical of it. Exterior mods are all a matter of choice and your personal tastes. Most of them (including a big aluminum spoiler) do nothing for a street driven car.

I hope I wasn't discouraging guys from posting pics. I learn a lot and find things IMO that look good and those that don't look good. For example, I think taking off the side molding looks nice, especially since a lot of them turn yellow (I have one that was repainted and doesn't match). I probably never would attempt it if I hadn't seen what it looked like on other .org member cars. Same goes for the E36 lights. Done right (like awsm66) they look fantastic.
