New Mod / New Product.. Whatcha think?

I think it looks great, makes a big difference for my trunk, esp since I have no system... Look even better if (when) I put a system in.

Its two pieces, separated in the middle.

Looks great but i think it will be better with it being able to fold horizontally with a hinge to join it together..easier access to spare tire...etc.

I think that looks pretty sweet. I think with a coat of black tint it would be even nicer. black/chrome diamond plate would be dope.
The idea of cutting it across instead of down the middle would make it better for the spare tire access.

yeah it looks pretty nice, how much? Maybe version 2.0 will have lips on the trunk edges so that little things like screws won't fall into the side gaps?

that looks good! does that material get scratched up easily or no?

on a similar issue, i was cleaning an 05 altima at work the other day and i love their trunk mats, i think most new nissans have the, or atleast sentras too, anyways....they have this nice plush mat that says altima on it, but it looks to be the exact dimensions of the 4th gen max trunk. can anyone confirm this? if so i'm gonna see if i can find one and i'll just get something to say maxima on it instead.

Would be even nicer if the diamond plate was adheard to some form of sound deadening product to cut back on some of those pesky little rattling grimlens. It sure would tone down on the aftermarket muffler resonation/loudness inside the vehicle too.

Thank you for all the comments.

They are $110 shipped, Introductory price of $100 shipped.
They are polished, and do have a tendency to scratch. I still have the clear protective sheet on mine. They have velcro on the back to stick to your stock carpet better.
I had considered doing it horizontally but this was the best way to get the two pieces in and out easily.

They are on the website now...

I have a full size spare as well in my trunk as well, I would notice the bulge with just the carpet, this evens it out really well.

I have never been much for the "chome" kick plate stuff.....but I would like it in another color better.
I would spray some Line-X on it, and then your scratch problems are gone.

Looks good but totally impractical, I carry way too much stuff around (hockey gear, soccer & tool box from time to time) that would slide everywhere scratching and making noise. Even trucks put in bed liners to stop that kind of problem.

This should not slide on you because:

1. There are velcro strips uderneath to hold onto your stock carpet.
2. It is cut to fit exactly into the trunk with little to no movement.

I think he was refering to items in the trunk sliding around on top of the metal mat. End result would be ruining and scratching the mat.
Although I would nt think it would slide too much being its diamond plated.

So, what does it weigh?

I think he was actually referring to the stuff in his trunk sliding...not the aluminum piece.

edit: (I see I was a little late at posting this.)

Sorry, I misunderstood.
Stuff would slide I suppose but this is the kind of thing that is more show than practical.. Like doorsills, as I've learned. I've gone through 4 sets so far because they keep gettin scratched, shorted out, etc.
For those who have a full size spare or the board under the carpet is sagging, this could be practical.

I will look into the weight but it is rather light, being aluminum.
