Fuel system cleaning

I was getting my oil changed a couple weeks back… did not have time to do it myself and they guy there “as usual” suggest a couple things for you to do so they can make a couple extra clams. Usually I do myself things they suggest, rad fluid change… tranny oil change… and I have a CAI so they don’t do the air filter.

Therefore I am wondering when I got my oil changed this time around when they told me fuel system cleaning was needed were they just pulling for some way to make a couple more bux off me?

Does someone have a link on a “how to” for the fuel system cleaning… if its complex and I actually should get it done?

Thanx

I think all they'll do is run a fuel system/injector cleaner through your engine. BG44k is good, but $20/can. Alternatively go to walmart and buy the techron concentrate for around $6. I've done it on both my vehicles, though in honesty I can say I noticed nothing. However, if I have noticed something then I probably left it too late

on the Techron... I highly doubt the shops actually disassemble/clean out the injectors/fuel rails for 100 bucks (which is what I have seen as a typical charge for fuel-system or fuel-injector cleaning).
