guys i have CEL for more than a month and i think its slowing me down. P0400 (EGR). is it slowing me down???

 

No. I have driven with my EGR valve disconnected for awhile, and the car runs perfect. I think its only for emissions stuff.

 

looks like all the 99 egrs are failing, i had to order a new one when cleainging out the valve didnt do the trick.

it does not affect performance to my knowlege.

 

EGR code dosn't neccessarily mean bad EGR valve..This code I had for a month definetely slowed me down..After some researching on ORG, I finally replaced EGR solenoid valve and problem went away..(along with this code I also got bad KS code and my KS was new)!..Car Felt way more responsive after I got this problem fixed..both codes went away!..Also EGR valves hardly fail, so probably it isn't this...I bet you, its your EGR solenoid valve..Replace this and your car will run like new again.

Give a shout out a member called BIG D..he has all the diagrams you need..some other members may be able to point you in the right direction concerning the location of this solenoid valve.
