Inspired by Sonofasail's thread, I have to ask you guys this question: If you were to buy a 2002 MY Nissan, would you stick with the slightly upgraded last-of-its-size Max or the completely revamped soon-to-be-midsize Altima?

I might go for one as a second car.

I'll stick with the Max for a while, but the rumored specs do sound nice.

The 2002 Altima looks good and its specs sound good, but for me, I don't have a need for another car the size of my Maxima right now. (Too bad Nissan wouldn't let us 5th generation owners have a free upgrade to the 2002 Maxima. Oh, but we can dream! LOL)

My next car would either be a replacement for my commuter car Civic (which I would love to be the 2002 Sentra SE-R) or a minivan (preferably a Honda Odyssey) for my girlfriend to use with her kids. (If I get the minivan, I can drive my Maxima full time! )

Still, the Altima looks to be the 'total knockout' its codename suggests. Well done, Nissan!

If the Max gets to big, I would definitely be very interested in a VQ-powered 6-spd (PLEASE??) Altima. It'll be in its 2nd or 3rd year when I get out of school and can actually afford a new car. My 4th gen is the biggest car I would want at the moment, except of course for an Impala SS.

I have to really wait and see what the new Altima is all about.
