Stock keyfob window up mod???
Stock keyfob window up mod???
As some of you know the stock keyless entry keyfob has the feature to allow the front two windows to go down. But unfortunately you cant let them back up without turning the key in the ignition to ACC.
I was wondering if anybody has this done to their Maxima that has a stock alarm/keyless entry system?
The reason why I ask is because I tried to do this mod with somebody but ran into a snag when we couldnt do one of the pre installition troubleshoots.
The company that has this module stated back to the installer this statement after we asked what went wrong:
"I was unaware that there was a car that had the remote window down option but no key cylinder control. I would almost bet that there is something wrong with the cylinder, but, then again it may not have been an option that year. If you get a chance pull the door panel off and see if you can find any wires going to the key cylinder. It is possible that the switch on the cylinder corroded over the 7 years the car has been around."
But I am going to do the above when I get a chance this week.
Thanks for any help!!

There are no wires going to the key cylinder. The guy thinks the system works like VW where if you turn the key to one direction and hold it, the windows roll down. That is not how our Maxima's work. I have also wanted to do this mod but haven't tried. I did have to take my door apart because I needed to grease the window track and there are definitely no wires going to the key cylinder if this helps at all.
the only thing the cylinder detects (actually i think its the drivers latch assembly) is when you unlock using the key twice it unlocks all doors. what sort of module where you using? im assuming that there is not an extra "accesory" trigger on the factory alarm?
It is a product made by this company. http://www.kptechnologies.net/ Thanks for the info Igobuk. The key in the door trick worked on the G35 coupe that was the installers car so it is just not the VW that have it. I dont think our year Maximas had this option/feature Im assuming.
99se5spd --I think it detects more than just the unlocking of all 4 doors because it rolls the windows down. I dummo though just have to wait and see. I need to get my windows tinted first anyway. I dont think it has an extra accesory trigger on the stock alarm either.
