Hi everybody-I have been reading some posts for the past couple of days. This is a GREAT board!! I just bought a 95 Maxima for $2000 from a friend. I am going to use it for a winter car (I have a 2005 Chrysler 300C for my summer car!! Love it!)He had it for 5 years and took good physical care of the car. He said the check engine lite has been on the whole time he had the car and I am going to take it in for a tune up. I noticed that there is a spot of oil on my driveway. Is that a problem? Oh, and I usually have to turn the key a couple of times to turn it on!
I obviously know nothing about cars and fixing them! But, I would like to know if there are some things that I should expect will go "wrong" with my new car?? I have been just browsing through the threads and I can't find much.
Oh, it has about 200,000 miles on it and my friend never put a dime into the car. The odometer stopped working at 172,000-so I don't know the exact mileage!

even though it has a few problems i think its a good deal you had there heh. Im pretty sure thats the mighty knock sensor code.... of course along with something else because 5 years with check engine on, it cant be good lol. just do the diagnosis yourself before you take it to the dealer
