Well i bought my car like 2 months ago and i was looking into buying a y pipe but my quiestion is how do i know i have an aftermarket pipe? is there a clip of someones car with just the y pipe installed? or somthing or should i get check under the car?

 

Take a look underneath the car and see if your Y pipe looks like the one here on the left:



If it has the pre-cats (those two small rectangular boxes) on it as in the picture then its the stock Y pipe.

 

yeah most (all?) aftermarket y-pipes are straight to the cat (no pre-cats)

 

Just look under the car.
If the y-pipe is really large diameter (total, because of bulky precats and such), it is stock.
If it is pretty shiny and a lot smaller and smoother, it is aftermarket.

 

go and take a look

 

you could have just asked the person you bought the car from to see if they had any mods or car was completely stock, but yea, go look under the car
