Temp Gauge Creeping Up

Hello All,

Through the summer my car's temp gauge would creep up to about
a 1/4" from the top "normal" mark. This would happen mostly in bumper
to bumper traffic.

It would come down to a little over the halfway mark while moving.

Well, the outside temp has been in the lower 70s to higher 60s, and
the car is still doing the same thing.

The radiator is new, the radiator cap is new, the hoses are new, the
water pump is new, the thermostat is new, and even the coolant is
new with the proper mix and is always full when I check it.

Course my car runs great till the temp creeps up, then it's pretty
sluggish (thinking that the fuel pressure reg is running the car rich
due to high temp).

I've checked the fans and they both come on... the second one
comes on when the air is turned on and when the temp gets high
on the gauge... only thing is, I haven't determined at what temp
the second fan gets turned on at.

It's been about a year since I did a full tune up (always do them at
about this time, just before winter). So I'm going to try that to see
if that helps (will replace the plugs, cap, rotor, and the 02 sensor -
the current one has been in there for about 2 years now and 24K
miles, I will also ohm out/replace the plug wires if needed).

I'll let everyone know what happens after the tune up, but I just
wanted to rattle some cages to see if anyone else had any ideas.

Thanks!
Scott

By the way... forgot to mention that the CHTS is also new...

Haven't change out the sending unit for the temp gauge yet though...
