just did it on my 96 with vht tint spray. its not that hard just remember to spray about 1ft away and stop spraying once you the the light and start again on the next pass. I did three coats and it looks good.
If you mess up you can use a high percentage Isophorbic rubbing alcohol to get the ting off before it sets and then just clean up the lights with some glass cleaner.
