quick question about throttle position...
according to my auterra scan, when I put my foot to the floor and go WOT, my throttle position only reads 90% or so....I recall a write-up/research that had been done by steVTEC regarding knock sensor operation vs. ignition timing...in which he detailed that it had appeared that at 93% or above, the engine's ecu imparts a WOT map for A/F and timing....so if I am never reaching 93%, am I never imparting the WOT map...?? would I need to adjust the throttle cable or perhaps calibrate the TPS??? I don't know if that would change performance any....I do however watch with the auterra, my O2's change loops accordingly which is indicative of the car recognizing WOT....

TPS specs are as follows:
Throttle fully closed, resistance between pins 2 and 3 should be 0.5K
Throttle fully open, resistance between pins 2 and 3 should be 4K
If you can't get the TPS readings very close to those specs, replace it.

Well I tried testing a while back with my multimeter and a chilton's manual, can't remember what the readings were, so I try that again....
wouldn't I be pulling a code for the TPS if it were out of spec?
I know it can be calibrated though by rotating it....so maybe I have to do that...

Slightly out of spec, your not going to throw a code for it.
The ECU still sees it working.
The ECU can only detect a sensor that's failed or the signal for that sensor has gone out of it's acceptable range. In the case of the TPS, it's resistance varies as you step on the gas. The ECU doesn't know that your foot is on the floor, but your TPS only reads 3K. Hance, drivability issues with no codes indicating whats wrong.
