My Maxima is more expensive to insure than my 98 Formula Firebird. My friends Max is more expensive than his 02 Supercharged Harley F150 or his new 04 F150. Anyone know why?

Just venting,
Gears

There is NO way...

Unless you changed insurance companies, got a huge ticket or have a 2005 Maxima.

It seems the some one is taking in the pooper......

Not that its impossible but its highly unlikely that the max would cost more to insure.

i think your insurance should just come out with it and say..... "heres the shaft, have a nice day." i just turned 18 and have 5-6 tickets under my belt w/ no collisions and my insurance is about 100 a month.

Please share with me this info: What insurance company are you under? What is your deductable? Is the car under your name? Are you listed as a primary driver of the car? How many other cars are on the policy.

lol he's 17 with $1K a year, full coverage. What do you think? Even driving a golf cart, that is a steal.

I'm 26 with zero accidents and it's still $850ish a year. When I was 17.... man it was about $2500 a year for a POS civic.

insurance is low for me because i saved 100 babies from a burning building.

Of course i'm under my parent's name, there is no way in hell i would have that low of insurance in nj...there are 2 other cars in the policy, a 2003 mitsu montero and a 2000 kia sportage.

by the way, i have nj manufacturer's insurance, and my deductible is 1000, i believe. They have the best rates in nj, as far as i know. I'm just lucky, i guess, my friend pays 1800 a year liability for his salvage title mitsubishi eclipse gst.

I am looking to get a 4th gen maxima in about a year from now so I asked my insurance company why would it be so high. They told me that the maxima has a high point status which means that it is up there in repair costs. Some of it had to do with my age, Im 23 yrs old. I cant wait until I turn 25. Oh, with just liability for me on a 98 maxima se it was $125 a month with collision it was like $225. That bit!

Sorry for the Late reply, I worked all weekend.

This is straight from my latest Auto Insurance policy (6 months):

1998 Formula Firebird- Bodily Injury $209 , Property Damage $130
1997 Nissan Maxima SE- Bodily Injury $239 , Property Damage $149

I do admit that the comp. and collision insurance are higher on the Formula but I dont understand why is the Liability higher. These rates are from AIG Insurance.
Also keep in mind that my buddy (posted earlier) with the trucks has a different insurance company than me. He also stated to me when he was thinking about buying a new Nissan Titan it was $300 more every 6 months to insure than a new V-8 F150. That was the reason he bought the Ford. Sad but true...

131 a month, Liberty Mutual Insurance, 1 ticket when i was 16(22 now, insurance company never knew ) no accidents, full coverage, car is in my name, insurance in my name, with 2 other cars on the policy(a 04 Lexus GX470/03 Lexus RX300). And when i turn 25, it goes to about 70 a month.

i cant believe someone is paying 4500 per 6 months to insure a maxima, that was what my insurance company wanted for me to drive my dad's Infiniti Q45t for a entire year, of course thats when i was 16 and newly licensed trying to get insurance on a 55k car.
