leds in auto climate control

=T just ordered leds for my auto climate control because all the lights went out. I was reading the how to's and the writeups for the auto climate and the manual climate controls. In the auto climate writeup, each of the positive and negative leads were wired together and finally to a resistor to a 12v source and not to the board itself. On the manual climate writeup, each of the leds were soldered separately to a resistor and then to the board.

I don't know if its because it is an auto climate control unit and it is more sensitive than the manual unit, but can't I just solder each led into the board with resistors like the climate control unit? Has anyone done this to their auto climate control? I just don't want to mess things up and not have any air for the upcoming winter. Any feedback and flaming if you want is welcome.

if its the same as an i30, which i believe it is. your controls should still be operative even if your lights went out. mine is after the lights went out. i am trying leds from superbrightleds.com so will let you know how it goes. i have ordered from them before and loved their products. hopefully these work as well.

yea, everything is working fine. I just get annoyed finding myself fishing to find the mode button in the dark when I have to defog my windshield. Please let me know how it goes. I should be doing this in about 3 weeks. Still iffy on starting.

I have installed leds into manual climate controls, but never into auto. SHouldnt be too difficult.

the install itself should be a breeze. the bulbs in there now are just that and twist in. no soldering necessary to replace them. they look like size 74 to me. anyway, i should have the bulbs in the next couple of days. i ordered them last night so hopefully before the end of the week. i got tired of fumbling for buttons right away.

instead of installing pre made bulbs, i was looking to solder leds w/ resistors into the actual board. Can anyone tell me if the auto climate control is not to be messed with like the manual climate control? Are there more delicate sensors that I can easily mess up?
