Hi all,
i need some help figuring out this intermittent problem. Sometime when i drive the car the engine kinda runs really rough, and hesitates when i press the gas.
And sometimes it just runs smooth. the service engine soon light is on, and its giving me the code for the knock sensor.
any help in diagnosis will be appreciated.

There should be another code to go with the knock sensor. The knock sensor doesn't set off the light by itself.

Since you have a 99, it's almost certainly a bad coil or two.

 

Thats what happened to me when I had a bad coil. That would be my guess. It only needs to be one out of the six.

 

I thought I had a bad KS, turns out that I had a cyl5 misfire and the cause was a broken wire to cyl5
