Widest tire on a 17inch rim wihtout scrubbing

What is the largest and most reccomended size tire for the maxima, in 17in size. I would not mind using spacers if needed to fit like a 235 tire on it.

Well alot of it depends on what the width therim is, and what ur gonna be doin with it, dont always need a wide tire, cause wide tire means more $.

Yea i have a 225/45/17 set up no rubs at all, but i also have a very wide rim, so theres almost no room between the rim and my struts, but tire isnt close to rubin at all. I dont know if id go with a 50, 45 is just right.(to me)

ur 235's may not rub because you dropped ur car and changed ur struts. but when i put my 235's on with the stock struts, it definitely rubbed. i needed a spacer for the 2 rear tires. the front two tires still rub but only when i turn the wheel as much it can go to any side.

the struts/drop mainly w/ springs and struts isn't going to affect anything as long as the rim and tire size are right for the car. it all depends on the rim/tire size/offset. hence we want to know what the rim width and offset is
