I am just wondering if you guys are happy with your sport suspension on your Maxima AE or SE. I had mine for 14k miles and I am not sure if I should replace the struts due to wearing.

Anyone feels like they should replace theirs because of the bumps and lumps on the ground?

In the place I live in, the bumps and lumps were every where.....

Do you guys think the Maxima struts will last longer than the ones on the 4th gen which I had to replace after 2 years?

The stock suspension wasn't really tough enough for me. I now have eibachs on and will be getting tokicos soon. If you plan to replace your struts, go aftermarket.

did you feel the struts loses its damping after ecessive use? I know that Koni lasts a life time plus they allow lowering with stock springs!

WHen you mean tough, did you mean durability or performance?

When I say tough I mean performance. As far as whether or not their performance is lagging.. I don't know cause every 5k miles or so I have added some suspension mod eheh. I can tell that the stock struts can't handle the eibachs which is why they are about to get the boot.

Could you do me a favor? Try to press your stock springs and see if they are compressable....

If they are hard enough, I might just as well go with Koni with stock springs since the sport suspension on the SE costs quite a bit.......

No need to replace your struts at 14K unless you have Eibachs on.

I'd love to test this for you but my stockers are in the hands of UPS currently.

Ohhhh... the stock springs and the Eibachs can be compressed somewhat by hand.

SHocks = struts whatever u like to call it! (I think)

I don't know...Since the se shocks have a pretty high damping rates, in theory they should last a little longer? Am I right?

In my opinion, ride is very tight with the SE and handling is very good. But since the place I live in has tons of lumps and bumps, I always have the feeling that my shocks should be replaced by Koni which should last a life time.

But I feel that my shocks are pretty hard still after all the bumps I hit almost every day. Can some expert tell me if the SE shocks are built to last?

As I see it.. basically shocks are just the individual absorbers... most newer suspension systems use struts which is basically a system where the spring goes around the shock and there are caps on the strut(or shock) that hold the spring in place...

I think the stock SE suspension is decent in terms of performance. I would not mind a stiffer, better handling ride though. You will feel a lot of bumps and road imperfections even with the stock SE setup.
