Remote Starter: Do our 5.5gen factory alarms support 'Auxiliary Output' ?

My apologies.. I also posted this in the Audio forum.

Hi Guys,
I'd like to add a Remote Start (only) to my 2002 GLE's factory alarm system. I'd like it to work with the factory keyfob.. nothing more, nothing less.

An installer recommended the Valet 561R, which comes with one ugly remote, that he says will replace my factory keyfob. After researching, I think I want the Valet 561T instead, which he seems to know nothing about. The 561T comes with no remotes and uses your original factory remote. In either case I also have to get a 556U immobilizer, which will use up my valet key (which is OK)

***The question I have is whether or not this will work with our Nissan factory alarms. It requires that the original system have an 'auxiliary output'.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!!

You can use the original nissan key fob for your remote starter. You will have to press the lock button three times I believe. Don't remember exactly what it is. You'll also need a blank (or filed down) programmed key to be hidden under the dash for the strarted to read the chip in it everytime it starts the car.

I have an add-on remote starter on my max. I press the lock button three times and the car starts. The trigger wire is connected to the lock wire and the module is setup to start on three pulses.

ooooooo, ok i'm definately interested in this one. I was wondering the exact same thing. How to bypass getting a new alarm system and have remote start, with factory alarm. I'm also putting pulse timers in the windows and the sunroof so that when I lock the doors with the key fob, it closes the windows and sunroof. Any how to's or could someone guide me with the modules and install? Much help would be appreciated. Are the 561T and 556U DEI products?

Thanks,
p

Main thing to do is just to bypass the clutch, so that you can start it with out using the clutch. Very dangerous, and I can't take responsibility for anyone here doing that. Almost all installers won't do this for you either. I have a 6-speed and yes I'm going to do this myself.

remote start on a manual is kind of a bad idea... if you forget to put it in neutral the car could take off when you start it. ive seen some people put on a safety switch to make sure its in neutral and ive seen that fail. my installers say that 99% of the times people have put on a remote start on a manual it ends up in crashing into something... thats why they wont install it

i guess i'm that 1% that hasn't. you do have to monitor your car 100% of the time with if it's in gear or not, and who you let drive it. my car sleeps in neutral and i don't usually let anyone take my car anywhere if i'm not with them, so no worries. i had this bypass in my Acura Legend Coupe 6-speed, and i loved it.

I have an 02 GLE with a remote starter, I bought it used and have no idea what brand it is though. You use the factory key fob and hit lock 2x to start her up. I also found out accidently that if i am sitting in the car and hit the door lock button 2x , it will also start the car.

Just my 2¢

how much does a remote starter with installation run. also, is the piece that you insert the key into extra? and are there any advantages/disadvantages of different ones?

Local dealer quoted $250 for the whole shebang, installed. The remote start goes for like $80 and the immobilizer bypass about $30-50 on the net. The spare key goes into the immobilizer bypass, and only bypasses when you are using the remote start. I see that some people file the key down first as an extra precaution.
