Catalectic Converter error

Ok went and got the codes pulled on my car. They said that the SES light came on due to a Catalectic Converter error. He did not seem to know what he was talking about or what would cause this problem. Now my car seems to be running fine, has anybody else had this problem or know what the hell this is. Just a thought have you ever noticed that the newer cars one little thing goes wrong all the bells and whistles come on the car shuts down. But on older cars they will go CLUNCKING, down the roads for 100,000 miles without problem. Ahhhh how technology has advanced. THanks guys fro all your help!

I don't know exactly how the 5th gens o2 sensors are set up, but I imagine there is one on or after the cat. That maybe your problem.

I will move this to the 5th gen forum for better anwsers.

Go back and find out the number, but my guess is a P0420.
