2003 Nissan Maxima - TITANIUM EDITION CDN??

Can someone confirm if this was released in Canada?
I called a Nissan dealer today and she told me that
they never carried this model ever! It was only
around in the US. I'm assuming the TE edition
has the Helical Limited Slip Differential right?

Also what is the going price for 03 with
Memory seats and low KMs? Looking for something
under 40,000KM

So far I cannot find any 6 speed manual anywhere
with memory seats.

Thanks for your help.

I have a 03 Max te 6 sp. Has LSD and, I think, everything but an automatic trans (yuck) and nav system. I bought mine 2nd hand from a dealer in Montreal.

The Titanium Edition did infact come out in Canada..a friend has it.You can get an 03 for roughly 23,000-25,000 CDN.
6 speed are rare as it is...one in TE would be hard..
check out grahamnissan.com in Ottawa...they have SE manuals..not sure of they are TE or not

This is great thanks everyone.
What should I look out for when purchasing these models?

Reading this forum makes me nervous. People have problems with
- replacing HID bulbs often
- Catalectic Converter problems
- Idling issues
- Paint
- Stalling

I currently have a 2003 Toyota Matrix 6 speed XRS without any problems.
Should I keep it or trade for the Maxima? I'm 6 foot 5 inches does the Maxima have scope steering.

Thanks

Hey, an XRS is a great vehicle. I owned an 4cyl Accord before and I find the Maxima is a real beast when you step on the gas. I love the seats and heated steering wheel. I live in Atlantic Canada and hopefully have no worries about pieces of sh>t stealing my headlights. I will say that, compared to my Accord, the Max burns alot of gas and is hard on tires. It all depends on what you get used too. Overall, I think the Max is a great car. You do pay more to drive a nicer car...(17 inch tires aren't cheap!!!)

HID's dont go out often, I've only seen 1-3 posts recently, past 2 months, just seem to get stolen more.

Haven't heard too many problems with the cat, just 1 today.

Idling and stalling seem to be MAF related. My '03 has 43k on th clock and hasnt shown any problems with it yet.

The cars do have 5 yr/60k powertrain warranty, so that's a little piece of mind.

As for problems, I have 44k on my car and have no problem with paint. I did end up at the dealership for a software upgrade due to a lag when stomping on the gas. I've had the hood realigned and that's about it. The Potenzas are really crappy in the rain. Burn them off!!!!

maybe the reason she didnt say there was ever a titanium edition model, was because the TItanium Edition was a package added on to the SE model.

Thanks everyone.

This is very good information.
I do love my Matrix but the Maxima is a very nice car.
I will see what is around. From the looks and sounds of it
doesn't look like anyone is willing to part with their 03's

Cheers

The weird thing is, I thought the titanium edition was a very limeted number of maximas out there, so I felt special... BUt it seems like everyone and their grandmother here owns a Titanium edition.

How much you willing to pay? I have a fully loaded 03 se (automatic) with 17000 kms on it. What would be considered the te edition in canada. There was no model officially dubbed the TE edition in Canada

I rarely see TE's here in the DFW area and not many 02/03's in general and when I do see a TE its always black.

I don't know this for sure, but I am pretty sure that TE doesn't mean HLSD. On the window sticker for my car, TE and HLSD are seperate items and each add to the total, meaning HLSD isn't an automatically added option with TE... I think.

I have over 90k on my '03 SE (none TE) and haven't had any problems. If you want a fast car without others knowing it, the max is for you. If you want to look fast, get a celica!

I defintely agree with that statement. Maybe the car in your sig is not yours, or maybe you're just a lil confused, but that car in your sig is most likely "Sheer Silver", btw. This is Gray Lustre......

Titanium Ed and Helical LSD are definitely separate options. LSD was a $399 option over and above the $999 Titanium Ed pricetag in '03. Here is the Nissan site that has just about everything you need to know about the '03-'05 models:

http://www.nissannews.com/nissan/200.../pricing.shtml

I am actually looking for the same car...SE 6 sp titanium ed with leather and heated seats.

Does anyone have a 6 sp manual w/memory seats that can tell me how the memory seats work? Are they tied into the remotes (seat moves to setting #1 when remote #1 is used to open door or #2 setting when remote #2 is used) or do you have to hit a memory button to move the seat?

Thanks for the info in advance.

Pete

Brantford Nissan has or had a 5.5 gen 6 spd. Check it out.
