To tell you the truth, not really. Too many people drive Maximas in the area, the gray hair crowd. I do wave at modded Maxima owners though.

if modded

If they are modded, hell yea. I even ack modded cars that aren't Max's if they look hot. I don't ack every single ricer out there, as a matter of fact last night there were like 10 riced out Honda's at one of the malls here, all together, I avoided them as I was drivin by .. they looked unfriendly..

The weird thing is I have seen a few modded Max's, and either waved or said something, and the person has been clueless, not even noticing me, or my car, or even really understanding what it was I thought was cool.. weird.

Well...

personally I've had more friendly acknowledgements from Honda and Acura guys either passing by or after a race. most of the Maximas(other than the local DC/MD guys that I know) that I've tried to acknowlegde either are "older", not into the modding thing or just not paying attention. The funny thing is that of all the Maxers that don't acknowledge me back are the 3rd genners I see...in my area the ONLY mods I've seen on a 3rd gen is rims, so I guess my Stillen front lip, painted interior, exhaust and "growl" from the intake make 'em jelous!? I pull right up next to them and they give me that sneer and a look out of the corner of their eyes.....I mean come on, I'm just trying to say "whats up to a fellow Maxer!"

I usually don't acknowlegde other Maxima drivers, especially non-modded ones. I just mind my own business. I ran into a few modded Maximas before, and I tried to say hi. It just seem like they don't care. So, oh well...

Exactly. I've gotten that quite a few times, which I felt was rather weird. You mod your car, you make it look good, having someone acknowledge that should be a good thing... dont get it.

Usually on campus (college park) i get the head nods and give the head nod back from other maximas... All guys so far. I've never given the head nod to a gal in a maxima before. They might think i'm a weirdo trying to hit on em. haha. That and my gf who is usually with me prolly wouldn't be too understanding.

I often try to speak with other Maxiam owners, for example at a gas station. I f I see any 5th gen I will mention the TSB's to them. Many are not aware of them and I would want somebody to do the same for me.
Y ?

I give the nod but mostly it tends to be old (over 50) and they get a puzzled look.

Unlike Jeep owners who go out of their way to say hi

i acknowledge them, but 95% of the time they are 40+ guys, and they dont care about modded maximas... or some young punk driving a car just as nice as theirs. i have only seen 2 modded 4th gens in my town...and the mods were basically wheels, tint, and chrome stuff on their doors... lol. the VP of Human Resources at my mother's work has a 98 SE and he has stillen FSTB, said it made a huge difference. i havent seen him since i got my max though... but he always liked my civic so i'm sure he'll like my max too.

I do the saw thing. One time I was driving home from work and there was a 2K Sterling Mist GLE next to me. We drove for a good 15 minutes in front of and in back of each other and gave each other the right of way as we made our way through traffic. The other person driving was an older guy...maybe in his 40s or so, and he seemed pretty cool.

i used to whenever anything that was modded rolled by but now seems like its summer time and the weather gets warmer, i do my head nod thing and they think i want to race them. espcailly ricers, they will rev at me and then give me this big goofy smerk. i usually don't rev or race back seeing how its broad daylight and there are like 782562657285685 cops around.

only if modded... sometimes I play with the sunroof control with my middle finger, it confuses people because they don't know if you're giving them the finger or just opening the roof...

I'm usually "nicer" to fellow Maxima drivers when I see them on the road.

I don't cut them off or anything!

Only if it's 3-gens. A couple of times when I've seen 4-gens that have rims etc... they don't do anything so I just ignore them back. I few of the 3-gens I see modded look and just check out what I have. At least they look over. I should give them a nod or two. I saw a super clean black 3-gen w/ the 2000 maxima 17's. We were both at a light but at diff directions. He saw my Mustang GTs and I saw his 2000 max rims. We both waved when we passed each other. Very cool experience.
