With those kind of problems I would say move on, thats not much but its enough. I don't really have any costly problems but little problems add up and become frustrating, which is making me lean toward the 6th gen to keep it in the Maxima family tree.

this is just basic stuff to fix to maintain the car for another million miles. examine the reality of the situation, the age of the car, the kind of miles it has on it -- i've replaced all of that and more on mine. you'll replace more than what you have cited, too, if you keep it. you will end up rebuilding much of the car, basically.

some members will say they have cars with "230 thousand miles" and swear it "has all original parts." good for them. you are not them. and neither was i. such is the cost of admission.

I would just sell it and buy something with a 5-speed. No AT problems that way.

the cost of fixing that at a shop not doing it your self would be well more then the car is worth. unless you really like the car and have a lot of after market parts, stereo and such custom made for it. i would just buy another maxima, im sure you would be able to find another 3rd gen for less then you can fix yours for.
