and where do you guys get your security systems?
The cops, if they found your stolen lights, would just claim them as "evidence" anyway in a case that may or may not ever be filed with the DA, so they'd sit around in an evidence room for 2 or 3 years. It's a PITA getting stuff back from evidence, a process involving lawyers, lots of angry threats, bad phone calls, letters begging judges, etc. + if they don't actually see the theft occur there's little that can be done to the thieves, at most charged with possession of stolen property if the cops can prove it's yours, and if they don't confess. The odds of any stolen property ever being recovered by the owner from robbery/burglary are infinitesimal unless you and they get very very lucky. I've been burglarized 4 or 5 times and never got anything back even when they had a full set of fingerprints. (!)
If they get stolen and your insurance will pay consider investing in the 2k1 lights with a good set of bulbs. And good luck with the security system, that way you can come out and watch them running off with your HIDS instead of finding out about it later. Figure they can bust your HIDs out in 20-30 secs and be off and running, and gone by the time you get out of the house to figure out why the hell your alarm's going off.
