Dimensions For A Front Mount Intercooler Without Losing Fog Lights
I'm looking to purchase an intercooler very soon, and wanted to know what the average size of an intercooler for a 99 without losing Fog lights. Also Is ebay a good source to purchase intercoolers from?If not anyone know any reasonable places to purchase?
Thanks

SEriously UNC is correct its because the piping gets in the waybut if you can figure out a way to get the piping around the fogs then its all gravy

If you want to keep your front bumper structural steel, then the intercooler can only be about 7-8" high to fit under the bumper. It can be up to about 34" long. A long intercooler with a short height will cool intake air real well, but you will have a larger pressure drop than if you went with a taller and shorter intercooler. If you remove the bumper steel then you can fit something on the order of 12" tall. A 24" X 12" would be close to ideal, I think.
I just ran the boost pipe up front without an intercooler and I got 25-30 degree cooler intake temps with only about .2 psi pressure drop from the additional intake length.

Shadow's end tanks are about 3" per side and there's another 1.5" for the inlets. The 8" height does require the bumper support to have about a 2.5" x 26" section to be removed. This is b/c the bumper opening is roughly 5.5" tall and we were trying to keep it mounted as high as possible to keep the pipes run roughly along the support. If you run a IC w/ bottom mounted inlets you have a bit more room to clear pipes though.
The alternative I've seen is to run the pipes through the frame(you have to cut some pretty big holes) but that requires a pretty sharp turn off the IC.

heres my page I have and intercooler, with my supercharger, and I was able to keep my fog lights. i used a spearco intercooler from ebay (boostcoolers) it was 28.5x8x3 you cant fit anything bigger than that and keep your fogs! By the way if your supercharged I make pipes that will bolt right up and make for a great install. Goto my web page:
