is their any way to shrink the amount of wear on my leather seats?

my seat is starting to get all wrinkkly, and teh passenger seat is all nice and new still...

 

I use meguiars (sp) leather conditioner, it doesn't eliminate the wrinkles but it makes the leather look alot better and keeps it from fading. My back seat looks darn near new as well as the passenger seat.

 

Put a towel down. It helps to keep the seats nice and clean, and probably cuts down on the wear. If you don't mind the asthetics of it, then it's probably your best bet.

 

First, when you enter the seat, try to avoid mashing the left side bolster while sliding into the seat. This will save the leather from cracking/fading. Then just use any of
the quality leather products once every three months and it
should stay nice.
I've had my 2k SE for 1 year and the seats(driver included)
still look new.
Also, I'm in and out of the car only 4-5 times per day,
maybe this explains my lack of wear.

 

Where possible, in your khackis or suit pants or whatever you wear, keep your back buttons (where they button to the pockets in the back) unbuttoned. This will keep that button underneath some fabric and lessen some of the wear. Buttons are a big cause for wear as you slide in and out of your seat.

 

It is much more of a problem when I wear my rhynestone studded pants to work. It is too hard to cover them all up. I just know the chicks are diggin' me, though.

Use quality leather products, like Mother's or Meguiar's. You should purchase a separate cleaner and conditioner. They should be used approximately once a month, to retain the new look and feel. The black is probably easier to keep clean, compared to the blonde leather. You should be able to clean them at least once a month during spring, summer, and fall months, but it's more difficult during the winter. I use a new, clean toothbrush to clean in between the crevices at the stitching, then vacuum out the debris. Make sure to clean and condition the steering wheel as well, because the oils and acids from your hands will slowly deteriorate the leather wrap, not to mention constant exposure to the sun and it's UV rays. The seats are there for you to sit on! They are meant to be worn down. And like any other cars, Maximas do not last forever! You can protect it, but you cannot remove the ages of it........ 'Nuff said.

 

take off ur pants when u drive.....nake butt will cause less damage to the leather seats....watch out the brown stain on the seats though. =)

u will notice later that ur driver seats have more wrinkles than ur passenger seats....no way to avoid that. just use leather cleaner and care.

I use towels over the floormats myself. Get the the same color, then wrap them around and tuck them under the mats. Keeps your car very clean - mud, rain, snow, dirt in general get on the towel which you can just take out and throw in the wash to clean.
