Well my car is (GASP!) almost a year old...

Come june I want to get it detailed to keep it nice... how much is fair to pay? And can they buff out little hair scratches?

well i am actually a detailer (not through nissan though) and it usually costs around $300 plus 150 or so if you want the leather cleaned and treated...this is basically a full detail putting it back to almost showroom condition (as close as we can get it)...it looks really good but it is really expensive (i can use everything there for free and detail my car on the clock...so guess what i do once a week)

but then again i work at a ferrari/porsche/rolls royce/bently/jaguar/audi/bmw/acura/honda/aston martin dealership (probably a couple i forgot there)...so it is going to be quite a bit more expensive than going to a nissan dealership...but there is no doubt in my mind that we do a better job because we have a full detail shop...i just got an advertisement from my local nissan shop that said something like $140 for a full detail but it didn't say anything about using a clay bar or wax it just said a wash and polish...try a private detail shop...a lot of the time it is just cheaper to do it yourself or know a detailer who will do it cheap...figure on paying about $200 or so...maybe a little more for a full detail

 

I have a place in my area that will do a detail for around $100.00. This is what I would consider to be an average detail. A $100.00 detail should include IMO.

1) Removal of road grime.
2) Wax
3) Vacuum
4) Carpet Shampoo
5) Detail hard to get interior areas, air vents etc.
6) Wash inside of windows.
7) Armor all

To have the paint buffed and engine detailed you would probably need to pay more.

Also, I'm sure that the job you would get from the exotic car dealer would be a much better job. Can you imagine what a Rolls Royce owner would do if they picked up their car and it smelled like a wet dog and had a couple of gallons of water in the carpets, lol.

 

it's usually around 150 or so... for detailing job... but there is also mini detail... which is no buffering... for about 60 bucks.. it includes clay bar, shampoo carpet etc....

 

I worked at a detailing place over the summer and if your car is in reasonable good shape you should just wax it yourself and save the money. But if it is looking pretty bad, then i wouldn't pay anymore than about 160 bucks. That should be enought to put on some insulator wax and leather cleaner and coat the rugs with scotch guard.
