02-03 Maxima Short Throw Shifter

Ok, heres another company that has decided to at least try to assemble and produce a short throw shifter for the 02-03 Maxima. I know theres another thread on this with a company that will be going forward with the plans and production but I felt it would be better to at least have a few options in choice. So i emailed hpautoworks.com and asked them if they could assist the members on Maxima.Org with seeing if they could make us a Short Throw Shifter and heres the email I received from them!!!!

Harvey, I can always have my engineer whip something up....i know that sounds kinda simple but we can design any kind of short shifter, so as long as their is a demand (generally a GB to get it going) BUT most importantly is if indeed after its designed, if it will truely work or not. we wont design anything to not work. Give me a few days and let me see what i can come up with. Thanks

It would be great if there were 2 choices for 5th gen owners. Competition is always good. Whoever is the first to market with a quality product would surely sell a bunch of them in a short period of time.

All HPAutoworks needs to do is look at this forum - it's clear there is plenty of demand for a STS for the 2k2-2k3 Max. If the product works and is priced reasonably, they'll sell a ton - I'd sure buy one.

umm I CARE!

Don't let this go away, you can bet that people want one, and the quality of each will be the deciding vote between which i go with.

You can bet he will get clients from here!

SSR Engineering just got a CNC machine and listed a SHORT SHIFTER as something they can make. Post in their thread and show your interest!

I received this reply today:

Thank you for showing interest, i just visited the boards and seen some
pretty good exposure in the form of a need for a STS. I contacted my
fabricator already and will work on something over the weekend. We have a
donor car already so the rest is design and trial to see what it can
actually do. We will be using "aerospace grade 7075-T6 aluminum" vs the
standard 6061-T6 aluminum, so it will be very strong. I will keep you guys
posted but not through the forum because I am not a authorized vendor on
there. Thanks so much, lets hope we can get something going.

Well, Finally someone who is going to at least try and make one for us instead of saying we will try after we finsih up with some other things. I was excited to write Andy and to have him respond back to me so quickly. I really believe he will get this done first off, he came into our forums and explained what they will do to make one. Not many Fabricators say they will jump on something this quick.

I just couldn't wait any longer for the other STS thread to bring us a shifter for the 6 speed. I just want to say, if anyone got offended or thought I stepped on their toes, I apoligize. But to have other companies also try and make the STS for us is always a PLUS!!!
