Any Canadian owners of Nissan Maxima 2000 AUTOMATIC?

Just wondering if you guys have experienced slow shifting between first and second gear...

I don't think the dealer would look at the US Tech bullitins.. But the dealer at least said he would take a test drive with me around the block. I know I can recreate it at a stop sign at the dealer!

Please advise... I'm going to the Dealer this week. Let's see if they agree.

Hell, my Toyota Corolla 1990 Automatic shifts better than the Max in it current form now..

I didn't know there was a difference between US and Canadian TSB's

The car's are the same and have the same problems....your dealer should look at those TSBs regardless of where they are from.

its not a US TSB but its a Nissan North America TSB which means that if you have a maxima that is registered in North America then the TSB applies to you. So if i were you i would print out a copy of that TSB and bring it in with you so that they could see it.

You mean the TSB I found on NHTSA web site is a Canadian TSB? Or is there a Canadian web site for Canadian TSB...

goto the sticky thread at the top of the 5th generation forum... there is a link in there for the newest tranny TSB... that is for Nissan North America and that should be honored by all US and Canadian dealers...

there is no such thing as just a canadian TSB or just a US TSB... its a North American TSB.

To make sure the dealer doesn't play you, make sure you have a couple of copies of the TSB, leave one with him. If they give you problems go to another dealer. Fighting a dealer ain't worth the sweat off a pig's nut sack.

The TSB is for all of North America (US and Canada). When I took my car to the dealership in Vancouver, BC, I had the TSB with me, but I didn't need to use it. I just mentioned that there's a TSB out for it, the person went to the back to look for it, and then came out saying that they've ordered me the parts. Simple, clean, and hassle free. I've had my TCM and solenoids replaced. Also had my trunk scratches and creaks and rattles fixed. I love my dealership.

Your dealership should have the TSBs. Just mention that there's a TSB and they should look for it if they don't know about it already. If they say there's nothing and everything's ok, go find another dealership.

Nissan sends out a CD containing new TSBs every month to every dealer. If your service rep is not lying, they should have EVERY TSB Nissan has issued.

By the way, I just checked my solenoid's part number with the one Kev posted. It's the same. That means both US and Canadian maximas use the same solenoid (or even parts).

Hope that helps.
