quick question about oil stop leaks....
yes....I know they are not the best thing to use and are to be used as a last resort or not at all...
I do have an oil seal leaking in a completely non-excessable place behing the timing chain guide and the whole assembly...basically would have to pull engine to replace the seal....the leak is very slow and small, but annoying nonetheless...
so without flaming, has anyone had any experiences with oil stop leak products out there that simply "swell" the seals...?? what were your experiences and/or recommendations of the best product to use that would be the least harsh on the internals?
btw, I am not planning on keeping this engine, this is only a temp fix....it's simply making a mess on my garage floor, and I am running out of cardboard....

I've used this product with great success in stoping leaks.
Gold Eagle No Leak
It comes in a brown bottle and costs about $5
After a few hundred miles, your leak should stop. I've used this product in a variety of cars over the years and found it to completely eliminate small leaks.

I used one once and drained it shortly thereafter (I felt bad with it there), and instead got a high-mileage motor oil that comes with stop leak. I am certain that an oil with stop leak built in is better than throwing the stop leak in after, and the quality will be far better.
