hello everyone, i just bought my dad a '00 maxima. i told him that the '00 has the timing chain and not a timing belt. however, i'm not 100% sure for this particular model and year. would someone confirm with me? if it has the chain, what maitenences are required for the timing chain? thanks for you help.

btw. great forum and lots of mod. i drive an rl and no where i could find an informative forum as this for the rl.

It has a chain..........

No maintenance, maybe a tensioner, but even then not to worry.

chain. sometimes they can get a little noisy too........so annoying

 

What do you do to make it quite?

 

timing chain. I don't think they are noisy. Unless you threw a coke can rattling in there.
