The battery on my Maxima died. I bought the car in Jan 1999. I called a dealer and he said that I need to pay for 75% of the price since I was in my third year. I thought that the battery was covered untill 3 years or 36 K miles. I only have 22K since the wife drives it. Did the dealer lie to me or do I really need to pay for the battery?

most likely they are lying to you, gotta love those damn dealers.

 

I think the battery is replaced free of charge for the 1st year/12kmi, then prorated for the remainder of 3yrs/36kmi. Look in the warranty booklet in your car for more details.
