Everyday i can just hear the constant abuse my maxima takes when i hit a bump or hole in the road. Its like the thing is gonna fall apart on me. I have a few annoying rattles here and there but im afraid the car will eventrually shake itself apart. But the on the flip side of it, i love seeing it dropped with the front lip, i get looks galore when cruising around.
Anyone else feel the same or regret dropping??

ny96maxse, have your H&R in the rear settled in and start sagging yet and if so by how much? From all the choices of springs out there I like H&R the best but kept hearing of it settling down too much in the rear after some times.

Over the winter I got stuck in the alley behind the house several times. The alleys almost never get plowed, so you have to rely on others to make tracks for you. The middle part of the alley between the wheel tracks was still a little high, so the bottom of the car just got stuck there. Just have to be a little more careful where I park when there's a heavy snowfall.

SOmetimes I regret the lowering. WHy? Because the Maxima suspension seems to not like being dropped. I don't notice any more rattles than before, but the harshness of the ride as increased atleast 5 times over stock. The ride isn't jarring, but the suspension geometry just isn't made for a drop therefore you get a bit more harshness. Another problem is initial bounce the rear develops with springs. No matter what rear shocks you run (KYB, Tok, Koni), the rear will still bounce a little. Not until someone comes out with a shock that has the right dampening, will the bounce go away.

All in all, the look is killer and I doubt I could stand the stock 4X4 look again. After adding my front lip (unpainted-looks great after 2 weeks and lots of rain), my car looks even lower.

I dont regret it. I like the new, firm ride. I have learned to drive around the big bumps in town. But, when I do slam a big one a bottom out the front suspension so hard my CD player skips and my radar detector jumps off the windshield I wince.

But I think the handling and looks are worth it.

My H&R springss are no where near sagging in the rear, unlike the infamous Intrax sag. They settled about a 1/4 after about a week. When i park on flat ground suprisingly the front and rear have almost a perfect and even drop. So i would say that im happy with my H&R's, just not with the harsh ride sometimes.

Have you guys run into the problem with the resonator dragging on the ground after you've slammed your Max? Someone suggested to me a while back to replace the S-shaped pipe just before the resonator with a straight pipe. Now that I can clear speedbumps with no problems I've got the exhaust rattling against the heat shields underneath the car whenever the road gets bumpy. I'm not sure if its the O2 sensor rubbing against the shields. I put a bungie cord on it to reduce the sideways motion but I'm wondering what I can do for the up and down motion?
