Installing Sirius Satellite Antenna Recommendations/Help

I am sure someone out there has already done this. If you have any pointers or suggestions, then please post them away.

Is the search feature still unavailable? I don't see it anywhere.

I am looking for suggestions on mounting locations, running the antenna line into the headliner, and securing the antenna without screwing it into the roof.

This is the receiver unit.
Audiovox SIR-PNP2

Here is the car kit.
Audiovox SIR-CK1

Thanks,
David

didn't have to screw the antenna to the roof, its magnetic and also has 3M tape, then tucked the wire around the rear window, drilled a small hole into the trunk and ran that to the interior, under the carpet, then drilled a small hole in that center console in between the seats and thats where i placed the receiver unit. actually, all the credit goes to my uncle who helped me out.

i took some pics real quick for ya, sorry it's dark out.

i just did my friends 2000 i30, and it's got the same layout as the 5th gen, and i did not have to drill in. it may take some time, but i think it's the neatest. mount it on top of the rear windshield, just like MJM above, run alongside window, pop open trunk lid. live trunk molding, run wire underneath, put molding back on, remove trunk carpetting, run behind that. pull seats down and remove the a$$ part of your back seat. it's very easy. if you reach under on both side you'll feel 2 clips. pull and it pops up. now also remove your door sills. now run from trunk, under backseat, under carpetting, till you reach the front, then cut across. you should have removed the center console at this point. snake through. now it's at tyour center console. now do whatever the hell you want. enjoy.

I have XM and put the antenna on the front corner of the dash. Works fine.

here's my xm antenna: I just ran the wire in the groove on the rear window rubber, I put heat shrink tubing around the antenna wire and it fits nice and snug in the groove. I ran the wire into the trunk and then up the the front of the car under the interior trim.

I put my Sirius antenna on the trunk about 6"-7" from the rear window and ran the antenna wire towards the window and tucked it in between the trunk & window and from there easy shot to center console location same as mjm. Not abtrusive aesthetically. Good luck
