Yup, since we have an auto, we must be making up stories left and right.

Why do you take everything so personally? It's not like he went after you specifically. But you have to admit, a lot of the stories posted here sound pretty fishy. I drive an auto max, so I know what it can do. But it is slower than a 5 spd., by almost a second to 60. That makes a difference. A lot of these stories would be more believable if it were a 5 spd. maxima, it's that simple.

Someone did bring up a good point regarding the level of professionalism driving these cars. I know I'm not a full second faster than an auto Max. However, I have a loaded SE including dual power seats. The GXE is a bit lighter.

Taking it so personally??? Um...you're wrong. If you couldn't tell, I was trying to be sarcastic. In the other post BrianV posted, I totally agree with him that there are just some ridiculous kills that people posted in the past. However, I just want people like BrianV and other non-auto guys to give us auto drivers a bit more credit. Yeah, they drive a 5spd., and of course, they are faster than us auto drivers, no doubt about that. I'm not talking about BrianV, but if you been on this board long enough, you'll know that there are instances where a 5spd. guy thinks he's so above auto drivers. Sure, an auto is slower than a 5spd., but it's no snail. I raced a 5spd. Maxima with similiar mods like me, and yes, I lost, but only by a car length. No exactly blowing me away like how some 5spd. guys think. To be honest, I wish I did have a 5spd. instead of this automatic. However, I don't have the luxury to just get rid of this auto and get a used 5spd. So, I got to make the most with what I have. BrianV, I have nothing against you. I totally agree with you about some of the questionable kills. However, not all autos are slow. I can keep up with the best of the 5spd. Maxima out there. Anyway, you guys that have a 5spd. Maxima, consider yourself lucky.

I know you were being sarcastic in this post, it's just in the other one BrianV posted, you seemed genuinely offended.

who really cares if you have an auto or 5speed(well i care) but still there is really no other car in our class that can match the auto and 5speed- A maxima is a maxima-
but 5speeds are sweet though

Well..I have a 95SE auto full load and my cousin have a 98SE 5 speed. The reason that I brought was b/c I total my 93 240SE 5 Speed and I needed a car fast. The only thing I could found and aford was that 95SE auto. When I didn't have any mod, my cousin's 98SE have intake, udp, Y pipe, and mid pipe, sometimes muffler (He always out it on and take it off b/c he think it's too loud) We try to race couple times and he always got me about one car length. Even thought he said he always wait for me takes off first but I don't believe him. But he never say my car is slow even though I knew his car should be faster cause he got a 5 speed, but there is times he wish to get a auto too (When we got into traffic) I think the first 0 - 40 we are about even then he start to pull b/c his mod. However now I have intake too and thinking about getting a y pipe. I believe I can hang with him even closer. just want to share. if we all both stock. He maybe got me for like 1/2 car 0 - 60, but I am sastify with that, since I don't need to do anything. and he have to change the gear..and stuff..
but sometimes I do want to get a 5 speed to get the feeling of real reacing tho..
