Did i blow an 02 sensor?????

ok i was driving today, and all of a sudden my car felt and sounded kinda odd, than the TCS, Slip, and CEL lights went on and it smelled like exhaust or something burning in the car, so i pulled over and shut it off, i waited a bit turned it back on, and everything was fine but the CEL was still on. I know its not my MAF cus its driving fine now. so im guessing 02 sensor, am i right? an how much would it cost to get this fixed? Should i go to the dealer to get this done?

Thanx

Doubt it's an O2 sensor. Could be a problem with a cat. I have two dead O2 sensors and I don't get any smells.

Yeah, O2 sensors don't smell or make any noticeable change in performance. Also with my O2 sensors going out only th CEL light came on. Take your car to Autozone and have them check out your computer.

The O2 only has to do with your emission and it does set the CEL off. You'll noticed decrease in gas mileage. But I'm certain it can't be your O2 sensor. But as far as the smell.... that would be depending on where you're smelling it from, rear, side or engine bay.

Those are the three lights that came on when my coils went bad. Have you replaced your coils yet? The coils are bad on the 2Ks

Get the code pulled at Autozone and if it is 1320, then replace all six coils. You'll noticed improved performance and the problem will be gone.

Just a side note, we often need our codes pulled. Can anyone get us a group buy on the OBDII scanners?

Most likely the coils. I would do it yourself unless you have a warrantee. They cost $300.00 for all six. You can buy from Dave B (number in the sticky) and if you can replace spark plugs you can likely do the coils. I've read dealers can charge $600-800 for the job.

ok the dealership wants to charge me $850 for all 6 coils including labor. i went to my mechanic, and he said hes ganna charge me $75 per coil plus 150 for labor. so i think im ganna go through him.

one question though my CEL is off now how could that be?? it just turned off. i mean the coil couldnt just fix it self right? im thinking that maybe the light burnt out? and is it bad to drive around w/ bad coils??

2kVQboodah i posted in your thread about the dual exhaust. pm or e-mail me w/any questions. and for more pics they are on my cardomain page

75 a coil is ALOT of $$$, thats 450 for all 6 coils and 150 to repleace em. You can get the coils from Dave B, and do it yourself. I think I will have to make a HOW TO for the MAF and the COILs for the 3.0 guys cause it makes me sick to my stomach to see someone spend 150 dollars to install coils- where it takes no more than 5 min to do all 6 coils ! I would like to know what your mechanic charges for a clutch or wheel bearing job !! PearlWhtMaX2000 please order the coils from Dave B, and wait for my HOW TO post, cause its just killn me to see ya guys spend soooo much on a such a EZ job.
