Christmas Decisions! need help choosing

OK guys, my girlfriend gave me the option to get one of 2 gifts for christmas, and im completley up in the air about which to choose... here they are:

1. Brushed Aluminum Dash Kit + Radar Detector
or
2. DVD player and DVD in-dash 7" monitor

what should i get?!? vote, i cant decide..also i was wondering if you guys with DVD players use it all the time.. i feel like i wouldnt watch it all that much.. are they really worth it?

I'm with Tek-Nig and Tavarish, the DVD. The radar detector and dash kit you can get later. Its not as exciting as the DVD.

yea i agree that the DVD is more exciting.. but my wood dash kit looks really bad, sunspots, and its coming off in some areas... one piece is even a slightly different color (the car came like that, i think the woman before me who owned it tried to replace it)... but yeah i think im leaning towards a DVD player too. thanks all

When it is installed properly, the unit can't play DVDs while the car is in motion, only when the parking brake is on. It is illegal to play movies in the front seat while the car is in motion.

DVD player man. You can always get the other stuff later but the DVD player with the parking break disable and a monitor is golden at this point.

Assuming this girl is rich, go with the DVD. But don't burn a huge hole in her pocket if she doesn't have the money.
