Does after market angel eye's legal...

Hey guys, I'm wondering if after market angel eyes are legal ? Last week I received my 2k2 HID that I bought from budi, and before I go & install the HID I though of making the angel eyes mods, but I dont want to end up paying 200$ for DDE and being force to remove those, with all the trouble of opening the headlamp housing, any comments ?

Cheers

AA

Legal in the US. I would think they are cause some 5 series BMW's have them as stock equipment. Not 100% sure on that though.

Completely legal. Most Bimmers now come with them. Don't even worry about it.

Definitely check local law.... those can be pretty different... although like everyone said, since BMWs have em stock... I do'nt see why these would be a problem anywhere....

it should be legal, but it is just another thing to catch a cops eyes...to pull you over for something else...tint....exhust...etc... everyone gets DDEs to make them different on the road, basically we are catching the attention of both other drivers, and cops....so yeah, like i said, its now going to be somethin more noticable, then he will add on all the other illegal stuff you may have on your car.

Im pretty sure these are ok. Ive been stopeed by some cops here in Chicago and back in Champaign Illinois and asked where they could get a set.
The only illegal thing that I can think of is if you put some different colored lights... If you have lights other than white or amber its illegal

AFAIK, they're legal. I do know of laws that state you can only have four driving lights on a given vehicle. So with fogs on, the angel eyes may give us 6 if they're counted. But since they don't cast light down the road, it's a tough call. Are the tacky windshield washer led's legal? If not, the DDE's may not be either in some states. FWIW, I've had mine since their release nearly a year ago with no trouble from the 5-0.

Whatever the case is, you could always turn them off and wouldn't have to uninstall them.

I think if they are selling those junk projectors everywhere for most makes now and they have the angle eye feature and meet D.O.T. standards (i dont know how) then you should have no problem with these.

I had the 2k lights and retrofitted an hid kit into them. The light was great but I lost my high beams. After about a year without my high beams, I couldn't take it anymore and had to switch them out. It's not worth losing high beams for hid.

Actually if u put blue or red angel eyes that is illegal in a lot of states. Just be wary about that.
