Someone was driving a little fast tonight (novel with morals!)

<shawn>IBstreetracing </shawn>

I was following a tan 4th gen (sans spoiler, dunno model) who was really letting his car stretch it's legs on SE 24th St in Sammamish....

Just FYI kiddies: You shouldn't EVER get up to 130 MPH on any road at 7PM on a saturday... in the rain... especially one with driveways on it... even if you're "following" another Maxima to show a gross display of 160 Earth-shattering, ground-pounding, asphalt-rippling horsepower*

A safe distance is reasonable (to allow for, say, a Suburban to exit said driveway onto SE 24th St. and still allow you enough room to say three Apostle's Creeds, fill a 5 gallon bucket with your own excretion, and slow to the safe and sane speed limit of 30 MPH). but, still make sure your brakes are up to snuff. Mine certainly are, but not after emitting sufficient heat and light to brighten the asphalt under and around my car. Needless to say, I could have cooked 4 pizzas on my rotors and deep-fried some chicken wings with good ole' NAPA DOT-3.

With all funny aside, make sure your brakes are in good working condition. Make sure your tires aren't bald, and for the love of God and all that is good, Holy, and virginal in this world . . .

TAKE IT TO THE TRACK

Well, A... chalk this up in the 'lesson well-learned' department. Because it could've been a far, FAR worse outcome, bro. I'm just glad to see that you're still around for one more Sunday of food, football, and fun. Now, go say 100 "Hail Mary's", kiss some rosary beads, rub Buddah, eat leftover turkey, and ENJOY THE RIDE!

(oh... and steer clear of Shawn... he ain't all there today - LOL)

I'm suprised you got up to 130. How many miles of road did it take you to get to that speed?

Not only is my car substancially faster than my Dad's old 2000 SE 5spd, but it also out-cornered it to boot!

a pessimist would call me an idiot since driving fast, in the rain, and on public roads is effing stupid.

an optimist would call me the smartest man alive due to the fact I'm sitting here talking to you and not six feet under.
